About Me - Dylan Cheney

My Story

It all started back in April 2022, during the school holidays. I was 13 years old and feeling bored. I knew I wanted to do something productive and make a difference in my community, so I decided to start my own labour contracting business. With some help of my parents, I set up shop in Pingelly and started offering my services for odd jobs around town.
As my business grew, a spate of graffiti caused considerable damage to residential & commercial properties in Pingelly. I felt a sense of responsibility to do something about it, so I used the profits from my business to purchase the supplies I needed to clean up the graffiti. This not only improved the appearance of the town, but it gave me a great sense of pride to be making a positive impact in my community.
I continued to grow my business, reinvesting my profits into purchasing commercial lawn mowing equipment and expanding my services. My hard work and attention to detail quickly caught the attention of others in the community, and I became known for my high-quality work. In late 2022, I was nominated for the Western Australian Tidy Towns Award in the youth category and was awarded the 2023 Pingelly Youth of the Year award at the Australia day brekfast, which was a great honor.
In addition to running my business, I am also active in my community. I volunteer my time to assist with youth events in Pingelly and I was delighted in assisting with the setting up of the Pingelly Christmas Village decorations, Australia day breakfast, Christmas party on the oval and the recent swimming pool party in 2023. I have a strong work ethic and I'm committed to delivering quality outcomes in everything I undertake.
My goals for the future are to continue to develop and nurture my current clients, as well as venturing further afield to gain new clients and opportunities. I want to leave a lasting legacy of hard work, dedication, and community spirit.
In conclusion, I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far and I'm excited for what the future holds. My journey as a young entrepreneur has taught me the importance of hard work, attention to detail, and quality outcomes. I hope my story will inspire others to chase their dreams and make a difference in their own communities.
